Age 82, of Cherry Hill, NJ, passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2022. Beloved husband of Susan M. (Walczak), married for 55 years; proud father of his four sons Michael T. (Laurie) Lausi of Cherry Hill, NJ, Kevin D. Lausi (Tracie Ryan) of Hollywood, FL, David B. (Jaclyn) Lausi of Haddonfield, NJ, and Matthew T. (Heather) Lausi of Hoboken, NJ. Only child of his late parents, Bonaventura Lausi and Marie Braghini of Pittsburgh, PA, he married into a large family, and eventually had one of his own. His steadfast values, strong work ethic, dry sense of humor, humility and heart guided how he lived his life and raised his sons. A proud grandfather of Justin, Sarah, Connor, Kaitlyn, Kayleigh, and Ethan, he found a renewed sense of joy in the simple pleasures of life. From family gatherings and trips to the Poconos, to genealogy, walks with friends, and Pitt Football, it was the little things that made him happiest. Always experimenting in the kitchen and making something new, you could find him any time, day or night, with a cup of coffee close by. But of all his hobbies, his true passion was shown most through his vast global stamp collection, his incredible garden boasting over 50 varieties/species of plants, flowers, herbs, and even fruit.
A chemist by trade, he began his career at U.S. Steel, while serving in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve. Later, after receiving his MBA from the University of Pittsburgh, he rose to become a respected sales executive at IBM, a career spanning more than 30 years. Retirement came in the form of tax consulting for years following until 2020. Family and friends will be invited to join a private celebration of his life August 27th in Pittsburgh, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to theUniversity of Pittsburgh Katz Graduate School of Business and College of Business Administration, PO Box 640093, Pittsburgh, PA 15264-0093 or the American Heart Association, 444 Liberty Ave., #1300, Pittsburgh, PA 15222.
