Susan E. (nee Stinsmen) Goldman
Susan Goldman, of Cherry Hill, NJ, age 81, passed away peacefully, at her home, surrounded by her family after a long illness.
She was the beloved wife of Ronald Goldman for 48 years. Devoted Mother of Kimberly McDonough, Robyn Weikert and Scott Goldman. Adoring Mom-Mom of Matthew, Devin, Marissa, Jonathon, Nathan and Hannah. Sister of John Stinsmen (Jane) and sister-in-law of Mitchell Goldman.
Susan led a truly remarkable life. From a young age she excelled in both academics and especially athletics. She participated in many high school varsity teams which led her to West Chester University and a teaching degree in Physical Education.
In particular, Susan along with her dad, Ed, and brother, John, made skiing their favorite and most accomplished activity. After just a few years, all three passed rigorous tests and became ski patrolman at multiple sites in Vermont and Pennsylvania. But Susan went further and became a highly decorated ski racer winning so many slalom, giant slalom and downhill racing events that they retired the trophies in her name.
During Susan’s college days she worked summers at camps for special needs children. Once again, she made the most of her experiences and pursued a master’s degree in special education followed by a 33 year career teaching special needs children.
But the best example of this remarkable woman was the incredible love and devotion she had for her family and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 14th beginning at 12:30 with services to start at 1:00 promptly at Platt Memorial Chaples 2001 Berlin Road Cherry Hill, NJ
