beautiful loving wife Florence (nee Bucksbaum) and brothers Sidney, Nathan and Frank. He was a wonderful son, brother, devoted and loving husband, beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather and a lifelong friend to many. He was a self made man and gifted entrepreneur who created several very successful businesses. He always said that his greatest achievement in life was his family. When family would visit him in Florida he would always have the biggest smile. It gave him so much joy to see them. Sol was a proud Coast Guard Veteran (serving his country in the South Pacific during WWII.) He enlisted at the age of 16. His years of service were a source of pride that would stay with him for a lifetime. He would always be seen wearing his Coast Guard Veterans hat and was flattered when strangers would come up to him and thank him for his service. He had an incredible wry sense of humor and he loved playing practical jokes on his family and friends. Sol was a voracious reader who enjoyed reading history, fiction as well as business journals. He plowed through books quicker than he could be supplied. His appetite for learning was insatiable. He was an avid Phillies and Eagles fan and enjoyed playing golf with his buddies as well as with his wife Florence. He lived life on his own terms. Graveside funeral services are private.
