Naomi Sara Alper

Naomi Alper, of Mt Laurel, NJ, passed away on November 19, 2022, at age 66.

Beloved sister of Seth (Roberta Isberg) Alper, Steven Alper, and Marilyn (Howard Wolff) Alper. Beloved family of Ray Kelso. Beloved aunt of Rebecca (Boris Khomut) Alper, Harry (Shona Clarkson) Alper, Zack Alper, and Sam Alper. Beloved great-aunt of Freddie Khomut and Barry Khomut.

Naomi was a friend to many. Those who had known her for years loved her deeply, and those who had just met her loved her quickly. Naomi had a tough, bold, sweet spirit. She was a loyal, caring friend and a committed daughter, sister, and aunt. Naomi’s home was always the gathering place for family - warm and full of art from her travels across the globe.

Naomi was a great listener and a superb storyteller. As the oldest daughter, Naomi carried stories of the Alper family across generations. She also had stories of her own - from her international travels, her work in the labor movement, and her life, that she lived in her own way.Naomi was not a traditional gal. She followed her own path, and her example invited others to live in their truth. We will remember her for her beautiful smile, style, and warmth.

Naomi had a ferocious spirit and limitless curiosity. She knew right from wrong and had a high ethical standard. She loved art and had traveled to see the world - starting at age 18 when she left New Jersey to live in the Netherlands for a year. She worked magic to have a lovely career with supportive colleagues doing work she truly believed in. She also beat cancer a few times - enough that we were able to enjoy extra years with her. We are grateful that she fought for those years and are comforted knowing she is at peace now.

Naomi was a treasure. We will miss her dearly.
