Marion Wexler
Marion Wexler, 85 of Cherry Hill, NJ lost her fight to cancer on January 1, 2022, at Samaritan Center in Voorhees, NJ. One of two daughters born to Louis Rubinsohn and Freda Alexander who immigrated through Elis Island just after World War I, Marion and her sister, Selma Kaplan were thus first-generation Americans growing up in the Strawberry Mansion section of Philadelphia. After WWII she married, Morton Wexler and they became original settlers of Willingboro, New Jersey. Marion worked in retail her entire life and was well known for doling out expert fashion advice and Yiddish quips. Marion was best known for her collection of elephants that brought her constant good luck and her love for her family.
Widow of Morton Wexler, Marion is survived by her children, Helene Porfiriadis, Randal Wexler, Shari Differ, her grandchildren, Adrienne Porfiriadis, Porfiris Porfiriadis, Joshua Burak (Maanasi), Alisha Merendino (Anthony), and her great-grandchildren, Alex Porfiriadis, Neera Burak, Anneeka Burak, Jordyn Meredino, Kiersten Merendino, her nieces and nephew, Francine Kaplan (Rhonda), Felice Mills (Kevin) and William Kaplan (Margie) and great nephew and niece, Griffin Mills and Madison Mills.
Relatives and friends are invited Friday, January 7, 2022, beginning 10:30 am to PLATT MEMORIAL CHAPELS, Inc. 2001 Berlin Road, Cherry Hill, NJ where funeral services will begin promptly at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Roosevelt Memorial Park in Trevose, PA. In lieu of flowers contributions in her memory can be made to the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org.
She will be lovingly remembered by her life-long friends, Frannie Kancher and Flora Hans along with the many of her friends from the Dubin House.
