Karen Judith Fisher




Karen Judith Fisher (nee Moses) passed away peacefully on May 11th, 2023, surrounded by her family. She is survived by her beloved husband, Alan, her devoted daughters, Dana Wolf (Al) and Holly Robbins. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren, Amanda Gorman and Matthew Sieger and her cherished great-grandchildren, Noah, Addison, Mila and Luca.


Karen was born and raised in the Overbrook Park section of Philadelphia. She attended Overbrook High School where she was a member of the choir and the swing band. She played the piano and was known for her beautiful singing voice and love of oldies music.


Later in life she became involved in politics and volunteered in the Democratic party. She became a Committee Person in the 54th ward, 12th division in Northeast Philadelphia. She tirelessly served her community for many years.


Karen worked for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as the supervisor for the Bureau of Labor and Industry - child labor law enforcement. Philadelphia and six other counties were under her jurisdiction for more than 30 years.


After her retirement, she spent many hours indulging in her great love of reading, knitting and traveling with her husband, Alan. She and Alan joined a ballroom dancing group where they made many new friends and greatly enjoyed life.


Burial is private. Friends are asked to call on Monday and Tuesday, May 15th and 16th from 4PM to 9PM at her residence for food and sharing of memories.


In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Parkinson's Foundation or Samaritan Hospice of Camden County, New Jersey.
