Dr. Marvin A. Gross
Dr. Marvin Alan Gross, of Highland Beach, FL and Margate, NJ (formally of Cherry Hill, NJ), 79, died on September 21, 2020. Beloved husband of 55 years of Ellen Gross. Cherished father of Brian, Devin (Rachel), and Kennen (Wendy Schotland).
Loving grandfather of Gabriel, Jonah, Sarah, Joshua, and Nathan Gross. Dear brother of Adrien Wasserman and Renee Low (Paul), uncle to nieces and nephews, and good friend to many.
Marvin was born on November 7, 1940 in Jersey City, NJ to Aaron and Lillian (Edelberg) Gross. He attended Farleigh Dickinson University, received a DDS from Temple University School of Dentistry, and did post graduate studies in Endodontics at Temple University. He received many awards for outstanding academics and received the Fellowship in Dental Education for Endodontics. Marvin served as a Captain in the Army Dental Corps, including an internship at Walter Reed National Military Center. Marvin was a founding partner of South Jersey Endodontics in Cherry Hill, NJ and taught in the Graduate Department of Endodontics at Temple for 20 years. He served as president of the NJ State Board of Dentistry, was a lifetime member of many professional organizations, and was inducted into the American College of Dentistry. He served for many years on the Camphill Soltane Board, an organization in which the entire family is engaged.
His grandchildren affectionately called him Poppop or Pops, and he loved nothing more than spending time with Ellen and their family at the beach.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2020 at 11:30 am at Locustwood Memorial Park, (Sec. 10) Cherry Hill, NJ. The service will also be live streamed on the Platt Memorial Chapels Facebook Page.
