Dorisann "Cookie" Matez
Dorisann (Cookie) Matez, Age 87, passed away on January 14th, 2023. She is survived by her beloved husband of 64 years, Murray, her treasured children, Mitchell (Tracie), Andi (Ron), Bruce, and her precious grandchildren Ilana, Max, Lacey, Sam, Chad and Jordyn.

Cookie was the daughter of the late Harry and Reba Grossman. She was born and raised in Camden, New Jersey and then spent most of her life raising her family in Cherry Hill. Cookie graduated from Camden High School and went on to receive a degree in Early Education from Temple University. She taught Kindergarten prior to raising her children. Once they were grown, she returned to teaching preschool until grandchildren arrived for her to enjoy. Her family was the light of her life.
Cookie was extremely active throughout her life in many organizations including Sisterhood at Beth El, Women’s League, NJ Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons and Susan G. Komen. She held many leadership positions within these organizations and received honors including President, Woman of the Year and Woman of Valor.
Cookie will be remembered by her radiating beauty, big heart, zest for life, her love and devotion to her family and her warmth with welcoming anyone into her home.
Relatives and friends are invited Tues. beginning 10:15 am to PLATT MEMORIAL CHAPELS, Inc. 2001 Berlin Rd. Cherry Hill, NJ where funeral services will begin promptly at 11:00 am. Int. Crescent Mem. Park, Pennsauken, NJ
Shiva will be observed at the home of Andi and Ron Morris.
