Carmela Haber

Carmela Haber (nee' Perrotta), 64, passed away on March 1, 2023 after a lengthy illness, surrounded by her immediate family at her Marlton, New Jersey home.

Born in Allentown, Pennsylvania she was the only child of the late Pellegrino and Antonia Perrotta (nee' Cocca) where she nurtured and developed her ferocity and passion for life. She was a 1977 graduate of Allen High School and a 1981 graduate of Bloomsburg University (PA) where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Social Work. She completed her education in 1985 when she received her certified paralegal degree. Upon graduation from college, Mrs. Haber was employed by Connecticut Mutual Insurance Company for several years. Thereafter, she worked for several firms in the Philadelphia area, most notably for Goldfein & Joseph in their Center City Philadelphia office.

Mrs. Haber was a long-term resident of Marlton, New Jersey where she resided with her husband, Marvin ("Merv') and her daughters Lauren and Allison. From 2001 through 2022, she was employed by the Evesham Township School District focusing on elementary school aged special needs students. Mrs. Haber's keen sensitivity and insight provided her with a unique ability to reach her students. She enjoyed teaching for over 20 years, often relating stories of her students' accomplishments as a source of immense pride.

Carmela and her family maintained a summer home at the New Jersey shore in Brigantine Beach for nearly 30 years where she relished the ocean, beach and relaxed atmosphere of the shore with her family and close friends.

She was an active member and alumnae of the Sigma Sigma Sigma ("Ultra Violets") Sorority for nearly 44 years and was active in several New Jersey educational societies and organizations. In her final act of kindness and selflessness, Carmela chose to donate her body to the Humanity Gifts Registry where she will continue to promote education and research.

She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Marvin ("Merv") Haber and her loving daughters, Lauren and Allison and her son-in-law, Jovanni. Carmela also leaves close family and a plethora of friends across the United States and Italy.
