Bruce Silver

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce that Bruce Silver (78) passed away at Our Lady of Lourdes hospital, comfortably and peacefully, surrounded by loved ones and his favorite music. He is survived by his wife Nellie, and children, Lisa and Sam.

Bruce fought a brave battle with Parkinson’s Disease for many years and, while this may have been a focus in recent years, it certainly did not define him or his life. Bruce never lost his wonderfully dry sense of humor, fondness for 50’s music, and love for all things family.

He lived a long and wonderful life full of adventures piloting flights, photography, antiques, milkshakes, Groucho Marx impressions, and deep connections with his family, and with friends that became family. Bruce was always happy to share his favorite jokes and stories from his days working on the Million Dollar Pier or sneaking into a Frank Sinatra performance, he always generously shared the stories of his life.

Bruce remained the handsome, gregarious, and caring soul we all knew and loved until the day of his passing and he will be missed tremendously by all, especially his family.

Relatives and friends are invited Friday, August 12th beginning at 2:30pm to Platt Memorial Chapels, Inc. 2001 Berlin Road, Cherry Hill, NJ where funeral services will begin promptly at 3:00pm. Bruce’s family ask that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. https://www.michaeljfox.org/donate
