Bernice Gloria Gooberman

On November 9, 2022, at the age of 92, of Cherry Hill, NJ, formerly of Pennsauken, NJ. Born in Camden, NJ, one of four children of Sophie and Joseph Cohen. Predeceased by her husband of fifty-five years, Herbert Gooberman; her children, Cynthia Green and Rick Gooberman, DC; and her siblings Loretta Polito, Shirley Fishman, and Benjamin Cohn. Survived by her children Lance Gooberman, MD (Barbara) and Bruce Gooberman, MD (Carol) and brother-in-law Horace Rodriguez. Loving Grandma to Jason Gooberman; Sheera French; Steven Gartzman; Evan Gooberman, DO; Marcy Gooberman; Stephen Stout; Kathleen Stout; Jenna Green Montanaro; and Michael Green. Great-Grandma to twenty-one great-grandchildren. Aunt Bernice to many nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family is grateful for her caregivers Johanna Manansala, Jennes Manansala, and Cheryl Watkins.

Bernice graduated from Camden High School and married Herbie in 1950. They raised their children in Pennsauken, NJ. She was an entrepreneur with Herbie in the toys, novelties, and food businesses. She worked for twenty-seven years as an executive secretary at American Honda. Bernice and Herbie were inseparable and enjoyed their drives to neighborhood diners, traveling, and spending time with their children and grandchildren. Bernice was the matriarch of the family and loved celebrating the family bar and bat mitzvahs, graduations, weddings, birthdays, and holidays.

Relatives and friends are invited on Sunday, November 20th, at 9:30 am, Platt Memorial Chapels, 2001 Berlin Road, Cherry Hill, where funeral services will begin promptly at 10 am. Interment will follow at Crescent Memorial Park in Pennsauken. The 10 am service can be viewed online at https://www.plattmemorial.com.
