Anita Faer
We are sad to announce the passing of Anita Faer (nee Stein), more lovingly known as Nunnie, Mommy, Mom-Mom, and Gigi. She passed away peacefully at home May 22,2023 surrounded by family and love. Anita was pre-deceased by the love of her life Sol Faer whom she was married to for 57 years.

She is survived by her 2 daughters Randi Fornito (Vince Fornito), and Lori Downing (James Downing), her 6 grandchildren Stefanie Garufi (Jamie Garufi), Brian Fornito (Gianna Fornito), Tiffany Fornito (Jeremiah Jones), Joseph Fornito (Nicole Christenson), Brooke Downing, and Faith Downing and her 3 great grandchildren Sofia Garufi, Ella Fornito, and Khloe Jones.
Anita was a star, whether she was lighting up a stage on the Jewish American Theater on Broadway or just the dining room, she shone bright. Tales of her adventures with Fivish Finkle are infamous. Her most famous performance however came to be during December 7, 1941, with the sirens going off alerting to the bombing of Pearl Harbor. Her family learned so much about her days growing up through her avid story telling recounting her adventures. Anita was truly a woman of the performing arts. She could always be heard speaking Yiddish and Russian. She sang, danced, played the accordion, and even taught herself how to play the piano.
Above all else Anita cherished family and friends, especially her times in Brooklyn and her mother’s boarding house in Atlantic City. She was proudest of her 2 daughters Randi and Lori. Through them she gained 2 sons, 6 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. Words cannot express how much Anita meant to her family. She was the glue that held everyone together never missing a beat even in her last moments. Her greatest joys in life were her family and dogs. She will truly be loved and missed forever.
